New Venue and Classes for 2018

I am excited to announce that from January 2018, Look and Draw will be expanding its program of classes and workshops to include a second venue on the other side of the city.
From 2018 some classes will run from Abbeymount Studios in Abbeyhill.

On Saturday afternoons throughout February Cat Bruce will be hosting another animation workshop in this new space.   Students will  create simple hand-drawn animation loops using historical animation techniques.  More Info img_6359

Jenna Corcoran‘s ‘Realistic Contemporary Drawing’, where students can learn how to  ‘Draw just like that’, has been a sell out this term.  She will be running a slightly longer 3 hour session on Wednesday afternoons starting 31 January.  More Info

…. and last but not least, Rachel Mcbrinn will be joining us again on the Wednesday evenings to run a 5-week  class exploring collage as a form of image-making. More Info

Printing Surface

All the objects were out of the cupboard last night…. but this time not to draw from but rather to use the different textures and surfaces to make monotypes. A cheesegrater, the clutch from a car,  bubble wrap, old fuses, a lemon squeezer and an old slide projector are just a few of the objects used to create these amazing and varied prints.
