Discovering Drawing Painting & Printing is a studio-based course exploring the exciting possibilities of the drawn mark with emphasis on the role of drawing as a way to initiate, develop and sustain the creative process.
The course will allow you to work from various subject matter and will introduce you to a wide range of drawing and painting materials and mark-making concepts.
During the course you will:
Explore drawing techniques in a range of dry and wet media, including inks, charcoal, pastels and oil bars and graphite.
Experiment with collage, paint and other mixed media combinations
Develop your studio drawings through printmaking and painting processes
The teaching is delivered through slide talks, practical demonstrations as well as one to one tuition and group critiques.
This course is suitable for all levels. It will especially benefit those who are putting together a portfolio for art college.
All materials are provided with the exception of paint brushes. Students will also need to bring along an A1 folder to store their work for the duration of the course.
