£140 for 8 weeks (includes all materials)
Using the figure as a way into drawing, students will develop their drawing skills and their own intuitive language of marks through experimenting with different techniques and drawing media.
Each session will concentrate on a different approach to drawing from the human figure. Subjects covered vary from term to term with lessons on line, tone, gesture, shape, form & planes and colour. The start of a term focuses on the drawn mark with more painterly mediums being introduced as the term progresses. Classes begin with a short talk and slides looking at the work of artists relevant to what we will be doing in that session.
We provide a structured and supportive environment comprising of drawing and painting exercises designed to inspire authentic and creative responses to the human form. The atmosphere in the class is friendly and relaxed and we have a short interval for tea and biscuits halfway through. It is important to take inspiration from those around you and we encourage an exchange of ideas within the class at the end of the session.
