Grab your sketchbook and Join Jill M Boualaxai for a day of drawing and exploring the collections at Surgeons Hall Museum, Edinburgh.
Drawing is an essential tool for gathering material for studio projects and these sessions will allow you to explore new materials and approaches to drawing on location.
At the start of the session the group will be instructed through a series of quick drawing exercises which encourage unselfconscious responses to direct observation. After which the group will split up and individually explore themes that are specific to them. During this time the tutor will be on hand to chat with the students and give feedback on each individuals approach to sketching.
Guided by a sense of visual curiosity, you will be encouraged to see it, draw it, and think about it later. Not to worry about finished drawings but rather to gather visual information about the things which are of interest to YOU.
This workshop is suitable for all levels of ability and the cost and includes basic materials for the session.
