Living Lines: Mixed Media Trees

This half day en plein air workshop will draw inspiration from the local landscape to create some lively mixed media drawings with a particular focus on trees.  We will begin with warm up drawings that will help you to develop observational skills whilst keeping your drawings fresh and loose. Then we will consider composition, which is one of the most important elements in a drawing. Finally, using all the information that we have gathered we will create an expressive mixed media drawing in ink and soft pastel which considers line form, tone and colour.  This is a great workshop for anyone who wishes to develop their confidence in drawing outside,  as well as those who would like to simply loosen up and create more expressive and lively work. Because this workshop will be outdoors, participants are required to bring appropriate clothing. Whilst we not be put off by a few rain showers, we will make alternative arrangements to draw indoors if it is extremely wet.
