Self-portraiture is one of the oldest subjects used in the history of art and it continues to be very much present in contemporary art as well. A self-portrait does not necessarily have to be representational, it can also be an abstract or symbolic depiction by an artist of themselves. This 5 week course aims to inspire you to explore yourself, your face and features and reinterpret them using different mediums and techniques such as drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and sculpture. Each session we will also be looking at different artists and their work for inspiration and as a way of understanding what can be achieved with different mediums and what a non traditional self-portrait might look like. This class is for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced artists who are looking to widen their skills and expand their practice. The sessions are fully instructed and all materials are provided. This course is bookable as Drop in sessions for £32 per session. Please select preferred date below.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & Refunds Policy In the event of Look & Draw canceling a class or workshop for any reason, you will receive a full refund. Cancellations made 14 days or more before the start of a course: A full refund will be issued, minus a £30 non-refundable holding deposit. The holding deposit secures your place and contributes to administrative costs. Cancellations made within 14 days of the start of a class: Unfortunately, no refunds can be provided. However, we may offer a discount on a future class at our discretion. Cancellations after the term has started: We cannot offer refunds for classes already commenced.
